Gargoyles

Gargoyles were made by sculptors to guard sacred places and frighten away demons. Some of the statues are half beast and half man and others look like imaginary animals with eagle’s wings, lion’s clawed paws and a snake’s tail. Brrrr, I get goosebumps just thinking about them!! More…
Gargoyles were also put at the end of the gutters to evacuate rainwater from the roof.
They can be found on the facades of churches like Notre Dame Cathedral (see photo) and are the most famous ones watching over Paris.
Gargoyles are demons that protect us from other demons. Legend has it that that they howl when evil approaches.
